Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) currency : Eastern Caribbean Dollar (ISO 4217 currency code: XCD, symbol: $ or EC$) : 1 Eastern Caribbean Dollar (EC$) = 100 cents. Eastern Caribbean Dollar is used in 8 Eastern Caribbean States : Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica (Wai‘tu kubuli), Grenada, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. It has been pegged to the United States dollar (USD) since 7 July 1976, at the exchange rate of US$ 1 = EC$ 2.70. it has been circultated since 1965. It is the official currency of all seven full members and one associate member of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS). Six of the states using the EC$ are Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. These states are all members of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union. Anguilla and Montserrat are British Overseas Territories. British Virgin Islands and Martinique are associate members of the OECS, but they do not use the Eastern Caribbean dollar as their official currency. Central bank is Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB), the monetary authority for the members of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), with the exception of the British Virgin Islands and Martinique.
